CRAFT BEER PACKAGING TREN ...

New designs are being tried to sustain sales by breweries. The purpose of bringing this change has been long felt. Beer packaging had become quaint, and a lot of consumers was noticing it.

Research

Customers wanted something new, something refreshing. A refreshing drink packed in a quaint, annoying packaging does not make a great combination. There is nothing better to look at a situation than to follow statistics related to it. Some top economists working in the brewery industry have gathered the data, and it makes one thing clear for everyone: A change is badly needed if the brewery industry wants to retain its consumers. Moving on to the practical functioning of both containers, some trends are destined to become popular in 2020. They are simple but ultimately let companies decide about their beer packaging.

Airtight Cans

The first trend, naturally, involves protection. Beer can be highly sensitive to the environment. Hence, we have to put safety measures in place for it. Direct light, oxygen, and high temperatures can easily make beer go stinky. It becomes useless if exposed to these elements. If we take bottles, they can protect the beer from almost 99% of wavelengths of light, if the amber glass is used. But there have been a lot of modifications done in cans so they can also now protect the drink. When we talk about air, cans are better suited to keep the beer safe. That is due to their airtight nature. They do not let any air come inside them. But bottles are not perfect in keeping air away. So here, cans are taking the lead.

Double Layered

Some brands have started to introduce packaging that has two layers instead of one. This is an interesting modification that is relatively recent in wine packaging. The primary advantage of this alteration is its ability to maintain the temperature of the drink. Double layers are scientifically proven to offer insulation. It is the same mechanism that is deployed in thermos flask containers that are popular for their temperature maintenance. Wine has to be kept cold, so this packaging is perfect for it. It has reduced the usage of refrigerators. Even if you forgot to put it back inside the fridge, it would retain its original temperature for some time.

Partitioned Container

There are different flavors of beer. Typically, they have been packaged in separate containers. But a new trend is changing this. Dual flavored cans are being made which have an active partition inside them to stop the two flavors from intermixing with each other. The barrier is usually made up of aluminium because it offers sturdy protection to both drinks. This technique has allowed brands to save a lot of money since they can now put two bottles in one packaging instead of using one container for each drink. This could even be tried for packaging three drinks together. But care should be taken because putting too many drinks together can make the container unmanageable.

 Handle

This has also been borrowed from other, latest packaging trends being followed by companies that are packaging other products. Handles have become a pragmatic part of casings and are being used by a wide variety of companies. Wine companies are also now following the trend and putting handles on their containers. This makes it easier to carry and transfer from one place to another. Handles are more comfortable to attach and effortlessly create a bottle of wine can appear luxurious and costly.

The Vintage Touch

Giving vintage feel to wine cans is a trend that will seemingly go strong in 2020. If beer cans have to replace bottles, it does not mean they have to feature everything modern. Customers sometimes like it if the packaging looks classic. The design of cans can be made to look vintage by making some effort and by following the patterns that have been developed for centuries.

Bottles are used by well-established brands that have been around for years. They have an incentive to use classic colors and printing. But that should not be limited to bottles only. Newer brands that want to capture that part of the market can always go perfect. This is good for their reputation. Also, it makes consumers think that the brand is keeping an old tradition alive.

2020 has brought a lot of modern packaging trends for wine businesses. Their usage is becoming more pronounced with time. These are amazing designs that are bound to generate additional revenues for a lot of brands. With practicality, they bring a touch of luxury, creating an excellent combination.
